First 10 km race while being diabetic

Hi, It was that past Saturday 23rd of Feb, 2013, that I finally was able to break that feeling of fear of participating in a 10 KM race while I am diabetic and in insulin Therapy.  This dream was in my mind for about 5 years but I did not take any actual steps to do it because of the ordinary excuses that we all planting inside us - things like: Come on, I have no time, everyday I am back home at 8 pm from work. I am diabetic and I am weak. I may be collapsing while running or walking. I may get Hypo..NO NO NO. I am overweight. I will not lose weight no matter what I do because I am in insulin. No one is encouraging me. Etc...... Do you have some of the above in your mind. Do you? To be honest with you, in this kind of hectic daily life that we are all immersed in it - squeezing exercise in a daily routine of  insulin dependent or non dependent diabetic or even non diabetic is not easy at all, it needs an extraordinary commitment and a burning desire that pushes you

Challenges on the way of controlling Diabetes

Hi, All, No matter how much quality of your control over your version of diabetes; there are always times that you get surprised, shocked - times that shake you and makes you stop and ask: what is happening here? why the hell am I getting these crazy numbers. I am controlling all inputs and following the recommended process. What is the heck happening here !!! It was a thought that came to me and as Wayne Dyer said that everything starts with a though and it was a dream to stay on my feet for more than 90 mins running  and as Wayne also said in his book you will see it when you believe it; that you are the dreamer of your dreams, so go out and do it. I started to exercise 2 months ago to help myself with the fight of Diabetes, Actually it was only walking for 5 Km, then 10 Km and then 12 Km; after a while I felt that I could jog, so I followed my feelings and jog, jog and jog until I reach the limit of 15 km running yesterday in 1 hr 44 min and in a great shape. Running while you are over weight is horrible and unless you like running and exercise and have the right motivations; it will be hard to do it. Adding to that if y
