  In my very humble opinion; I believe that there will be no cure for Diabetes for the next twenty or thirty years (at least). I don't say that out of putting you down or to underestimate the hard work of  scientists who are working day and night on such cure - if any!! It is time, Tuesday 11 am, I am just in front of the admission guy getting ready to be admitted   for a   knee surgery after 9 months of continuous pain because of meniscus disc tear in my right knee. Nurse is preparing me for the one clock pm surgery and a little conversation started between us . Me: No; it can be changed and I already agreed with surgeon to get non lactated saline solution only if required – it is just a 30 mins surgery and I insist. It was a long overnight trip that I barely slept in it; I was totally consumed in thinking about what will happen in this short business trip and whether it will be fruitful, business wise, or no. I was napping a little, reading a little and get bored a little during the long five hours flight. I arrived to the Airport and finished all arriving visa and luggage chores and as soon as my feet touched the land of the beautiful city of Koshi, India I felt that magical feeling - It was raining like I never seen before in my whole life and I always adore raining, That rain was extremely different, it was strong,   powerful and charming. Kind of rain that makes you feel that it is sweeping and cleaning you from the inside out. I just left my soul to sail with this God beauty especially the pure smell of the rain water when it touched the land. As an insulin dependent diabetic who was following the main stream guidelines eating high carbohydrates diet; I found out that it is impossible to control my blood sugar to the required normal bs numbers by eating this way. In fact I repeatedly found that it is way extremely hard to stop the rise in bs after eating fast acting carbs like juices, rice, wheat, pasta, etc.. either it is one, two or three hours after eating. I tried every possible way to get the required control ... ways like mastering MDI, knowing all factors (IC ratio, correction factor, IOB) Mastering glycemic index and load, mastering timing of injections..but it was really impossible. The folwing factors will explain to you why: 1. One gm of carbs raise bs of 80 kgm diabetic around 5 mg/dl and a raises a diabetic kid weighs 25 kg around 12 to 15  mg/dl - considering the 80 kg guy; if he  will follow the guidelines and eat around 240 gms of carbs daily ie 70 gms of carbs a meal with 2 snacks 15 gm each.....

180 بعد اﻷكل بساعتين = قمة اﻷستهتار ..مش عارف حاجة. يعتقد استحالة ضبط السكر للمعدل الطبيعي = آخر كتاب قرأه كان ايام الكلية.. زحمة و غالي و بتنتظره شهرين = لن تستفيد منه شيئا خاصة أطباء السكري. كتب لك انسولين مخلوط = مستحيل ضبط سكرك بيه و هو يعلم هذا و لكن ﻻ يعرف اﻻ هذا للاسف و حيقتلك هذا اﻹهمال و الجهل. طفلك ما ينامش اﻻ 200 = طفلك حتيجي له كل مضاعفات السكري بعد 5 سنين و السبب هذا المستهتر و لو كان ابنه ما فعل هذا... بيخاف من هبوط السكر فقط و ﻻ يأبه للعلو = تركه غنيمة و بسرعة اماريل او ديماكرون = عليه العوض في بنكرياسك بعد سنتين ثﻻثة بالكتير .. جانوفيا = سرطان غدة درقية و احتماﻻت اصابة بالسرطان . فيكتوزا = التهاب بنكرياس و هشاشة عظام و مشاكل في الكلى وحدات انسولين سريع ثابتة = ﻻ يفهم أي شيء عن إدارة السكري بيتخنق و ﻻ يجيب و متعجرف = جاهل و حيقتلك ﻻ محالة. بيفرح جدا لما تنبهه لشيء يساعد في ضبط السكر = طبيب محترم . بيخاف و يخوفك من اﻷنسولين = ﻻ حول و ﻻ قوة اﻻ بالله !! يتكلم عن معامل الكربس و أ . ك و التصحيح و برنستين = معانا هنا في الصفحة بس متنكر (عندنا 115 طبيب ﻻ يتكلم...
